Sinopsis:La película, remake de "Fama" de 1980 -que a su vez originó una famosa serie de televisión-, sigue a un dotado grupo de bailarines, cantantes, actores y artistas de diferentes disciplinas, a lo largo de cuatro años en la Escuela Superior de Artes Escénicas de Nueva York, donde se les da a los estudiantes la oportunidad de vivir sus sueños y de perseguir la fama. Pero esa clase de fama que viene del talento, la dedicación y el trabajo duro. "La fama cuesta, y aquí es donde vais a empezar a pagar con sudor". Esta es la frase con la que la dura profesora de baile encarnada por Debbie Allen recibía a sus alumnos en la escuela. En una atmósfera de increíble competitividad, plagada de inseguridades, los sueños de los estudiantes serán sometidas a duras pruebas. Mientras intentan alcanzar sus metas con duro trabajo tendrán que afrontar tumultuosas amistades y apasionados romances. Con el apoyo de sus amigos y compañeros artistas, descubrirán quién de entre todos ellos, tiene el talento necesario para alcanzar la fama. La película supone el debut en la dirección del coreógrafo y bailarín Kevin Tancharoen.
